@09@This screen set is here to help you get around in Requiem.
Requiem is a dungeon complex in which your goal is just
to wreak total havoc on all that oppose you - and of course
to grab as much treasure as you can get your hands on.
This Complex is by no means easy. We suggest that you try to
make a map as you go so you can mark locations of things....
Of course there are 2 secret rooms that contain a map of ALL
the locations of treasures, guards, and traps! But We'll let
you try to find those :).@5B@

@5B@ Instant Death Traps (Pitfalls) @05@

@05@Pitfalls will kill you @0D@INSTANTLY!@05@ That's right...you do not
pass go...you do not collect 200$ - you die for the day.
These Pitfalls are in the @0D@SAME PLACE@05@ every time....so It
would do you good to remember where they are!@07@ @05@Remember.....
if you die in Requiem (or any other module) you die in
Lachrymator as well....so be careful.@0E@

@4B@ Random Traps (Acid Pools + Booby Traps) @04@

@04@There are also random traps in Requiem. The most common of
the random traps is the @0C@BOOBY TRAP@04@.  The Booby Trap is
simply a trap that is wired to an item of treasure.......
treasures consist of Gold, Weapons, and Armor. Booby traps
are set off on a random percentage chance....that chance is
directly related to your current character level...in other
words the higher level you are - the better chance you have
of not get'n caught in the trap. Booby traps when set off
will KILL YOU! So once again be careful...the highest chance
of setting off a booby trap is 40% for a level one character
and decreases to only a 2% chance once you reach level 11.
The other kind of trap is an @0A@ACID POOL@04@. Acid pools are not
really random...they appear exactly the same as a life pool.
The only difference is that Acid Pools kill you while a life
pool restores all hitpoints to maximum value.  Acid Pools are
always in the same place...and same goes for Life Pools.....
So once ya find out what is what...make a note of the location.
That way if ya need to recharge your hitpoints ya can...and you
can also avoid those annoying Acid Pools! :)

@09@Secret Areas are found the same as in Lachrymator! All you do to
try to find one is try map directions that are not offered on the
display! So for instance if the area you are in offers only East and
West try North or South! It's that easy to try to find 'em! If you
find one you will know it....Finding Secret areas is the key to making
a killing in Requiem....there are a lot better treasure in secret areas
than out in the open...so go find em!

@47@  Combat in Requiem  @07@

@07@Combat in Requiem is basically the same as in Lachrymator! When you
have the opportunity to enter combat you will understand what to do...
After you kill a guard you will be given the opportunity to take his
weapons and armor...don't worry about get'n a weaker weapon or armor
than you currently have....if your weapon or armor are stronger than
the guard's you will be prompted that info and asked if you still
want to take it! Cool Huh? :) You will also gain experience points
for defeating a guard. Once a guard is dead he is dead for good.....
every time you walk back into the area you will see his dead rotting
corpse! :)

@0C@This is just a final note....you can quit Requiem on most menus by
simply pressing the Q key and then confirming that you want to quit.
This option will get you back to Lachrymator...and end your day in
Requiem. I encourage you to try to find a real exit back to
Lachrymator, However, as it will give you a special secret bonus for
taking the extra effort to leave through an exit.  The "Real Exits"
are called Astral Portal's...there are many of them throughout
Requiem's vast dungeon complex! Finally....Happy Gaming....We hope
that you will enjoy the World of The Lachrymator..and will continue
to for a long time :).
